SIERRA VISTA 911🚨UPDATE:Vehicle vs Bicyclist
Savana Dr and Mesa St. At approximately 1:00 PM, units with the Sierra Vista Fire and Medical Services, Sierra Vista Police Department, and the Fry Fire District responded to reports of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle.
SVPD officers arrived first on the scene and discovered a white Hummer H3 with front end damage and a 13-year-old male injured on the sidewalk.
Fire and medical crews arrived on the scene and immediately began rendering medical aid to the bicyclist.
While medical crews were evaluating the child, the decision was made to launch AirEvac 24 to transport the patient.
The helicopter landing zone was set up at First Baptist Church on Seventh Street and Golflinks.
The child was transported by helicopter to Banner University Medical Center in Tucson with unknown injuries.
According to police, the investigation into the crash is still ongoing, but they don’t believe impairment to be a factor.
The 13-year-old bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and did lose consciousness.

HERE WE GO AGAINMore Circle K Gas Supply Issues in Sierra Vista!

HERE WE GO AGAIN‼️More Circle K Gas Supply Issues in Sierra Vista! As of 2pm Friday nearly all their stations in Sierra Vista are completely out of fuel. This seems to be an ongoing Supply and Delivery issue isolated to Circkle K Stores only so far. All other Gas stations have fuel at this time.
The Valero Gas at the corner of Fry and AZ-90 had only 3 pumps out of fuel at our last check but still plenty of pumps available yet. Valero is owned by Circle K. A couple of the Circle Ks did still have Diesel fuel however.

MARTIN LUTHER KING MEMORIAL VANDALIZED SUNDAY IN SIERRA VISTA

MARTIN LUTHER KING MEMORIAL VANDALIZED SUNDAY IN SIERRA VISTA AZ..The Memorial is located at the Entrance to Veterans Park off MLK Jr. Drive by the COVE. It appears a paint ball gun may have been used. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the SVPD.
The City Public Works Department was on the cleanup early Monday morning with pictures shown of them power washing the paint off the Memorial area.
Statement from Clea McCaa II, President of the NAACP
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. plaza and mural is a cherished memorial and stands as a symbol for the city of Sierra Vista as a special reminder, which Dr. King fought for social justice for all communities. The person (s) who defaced the mural, located within our local Veterans Park, has attacked the very pillar of our community, to include our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. To the many, Dr. King is a hero and inspiration; he stood for justice, for bringing people together, against acts of violence. The NAACP stands in condemning this hideous demonstration of hatred within our community in the strongest terms.
Sierra Vista Mayor Pro Tem Rachel Gray issued this Response this morning.
“I am appalled that anyone in Sierra Vista would deface the Martin Luther King Jr monument. This monument is a place for people to sit and reflect on how far we have come thanks to the efforts of people like Dr King, and also how far we have to go to achieve true equality. I expect better from Sierra Vistans. There is no room in our city for hate. We are a diverse city who celebrates the uniqueness of our population.”
Councilman William Benning also commented on the defacing…
“When I heard of the defacing of the Martin Luther King Memorial at Veterans park I was ashamed and upset that someone would do something like this in our Community. Dr King spent his life bringing people of all colors together, in this diverse community I would never have imagined such hatred and disrespect. The City of Sierra Vista is one of the most diverse cities I have ever lived in and it is this diversity that makes Sierra Vista a great place to live. Dr Martin Luther King once said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.” We as a community must stand against this type of behavior and not tolerate it”
Pics Courtesy of Demetry Simonton who was driving by and noticed the defacing Sunday and contacted the City.

SWAT Mission Results in Felon Arrest
On Saturday November 20, 2021, detectives for the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes unit received information regarding fugitive Tyler Nahoopi (29 year old Sierra vista resident) who was reportedly hiding in a home located in the 300 block of Theatre Drive in Sierra Vista Arizona.
In addition to escaping from Sierra Vista police custody a few days prior for domestic violence offenses, he had a Felony Warrant issued by the Arizona Department of corrections for a parole violation stemming from a robbery conviction.

Officers tried to take him into custody but he resisted arrest. As he was being led to a patrol vehicle, Nahoopii was able to get away and run from the area. An extensive search was conducted, but he was able to elude police.
Nahoopii is wanted for domestic violence criminal damage and domestic violence disorderly conduct charges stemming from an incident that occurred on Sept. 9, 2021, and new charges of resisting arrest, escape, and theft.
