We want to take a moment to share some important news with our community. Last week, our owner, Alicia Buckhanan, was in a car accident while in Phoenix. She is now in recovery, and we are beyond grateful for the outpouring of prayers, love, and support we’ve received. Your kindness means the world to us, and Alicia wants to personally thank everyone for keeping her in your thoughts.
Despite this setback, Manny’s Farmers Market remains strong and moving forward! We are excited to introduce new menu items in our hot kitchen very soon and are working hard to open our meat department this week or next.
Unfortunately, we will have to cancel our Discovery Expo originally scheduled for this Wednesday. We truly appreciate all the local vendors who reached out to participate. We will reschedule for next month and encourage even more vendors to sign up and be a part of something special.

HIGHLY VISIBLE FIRE IN HEREFORD THIS MORNING:
A fire department team, from three agencies, along with the Cochise County Sheriff, worked quickly on an RV fire this morning.
Chief Seamens, from the Fry's Fire Department explained to us the story behind the highly visible fire in the Sierra Vista - Palominas - Hereford areas. The call was received at 6:33 a.m. The scene at East Rooney Easement and South Cana Street in Hereford, AZ. was cleared by 8:54 a.m.
The Sierra Vista Fire Department, Palominas Fire and Fry Fire Department assisted with 18 firefighters at this location.
The fire originated in the "sleeping area" of the RV with the cause still "under investigation." A collection of "debris in the outside area around the RV contributed to the fires intensity."
"The Cochise County Sheriff's Office found the owner, a male walking in the area. He had burns to his face, hands and arms. The officer contacted fire officials. An ambulance met the deputy. Subsequently the victim was transported to Canyon Vista."

THREATS LEAD TO S.W.A.T. RESPONSE WITH BARRICADED INDIVIDUAL MONDAY AT 500 SOUTH CORONADO: Below is the official press release from the Sierra Vista Police, Fire, and EMS
"Sierra Vista, AZ. 3/25/25. On Monday, March 24, the Sierra Vista Police Department responded to several reports of threats at an apartment complex that led to a barricaded subject and a response from the SVPD Tactical Unit.
Yesterday, around 9:50 a.m., police responded to an apartment complex on the 500 block of Coronado Drive after individuals who live in the apartments reported receiving threats from another person who resides there. When officers arrived, they attempted to contact the subject, but he refused to answer the door.
In response, officers established a perimeter around the building and made several attempts to negotiate with the suspect, urging him to surrender. After repeated unsuccessful negotiations, authorities obtained a search warrant and an arrest warrant. A final effort to persuade the suspect to surrender was ultimately successful.
To gain compliance, Tactical Unit officers breached a window and deployed pepper ball rounds into the apartment. The initial round proved ineffective, leading to the deployment of a second round of pepper balls. This action prompted the suspect to exit the apartment, and he was taken into custody at about 2:45 p.m.
“In these types of situations, time is on our side,” SVPD Sgt. Brian Sebastian says. “Taking things slow and having tools that set the conditions for a peaceful resolution help ensure the safety of our officers and residents. By being patient and deploying pepper ball rounds, which disperse a powdered chemical irritant that causes the eyes to water, nose to run, and can cause discomfort breathing, we’re able to create an atmosphere conducive to surrender.”
The subject was medically evaluated before being booked into the Cochise County Jail. He was charged with two counts of threatening/intimidating, two counts of disorderly conduct, and one count each of cruelty to animals, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and misconduct with a weapon."

The smuggler attempted to conceal the drugs within packages of roofing shingles. The officer's keen observation stopped the smuggler and prevented the drugs from entering our streets.

🚨WHETSTONE 911🚨 Vehicle fire on Hwy 82 down from Buddys bar (4pm). The driver of the older van escaped safely. Deputies on scene reported no injuries. Two dogs were alsosaved. The van was a total loss. A small brush fire on the side of the road was also put out.
