** UPDATE: ROADWAY IS NOW CLEAR **
🚨 BREAKING: HIGH-SPEED MOTORCYCLE PURSUIT ENDS IN CRASH, TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS IN SIERRA VISTA 🚨
Sierra Vista — A high-speed motorcycle pursuit Tuesday evening ended in a crash and arrest, with traffic now impacted in the area.
The incident began around 7:30 PM on April 7th, when a motorcycle rider fled from law enforcement, leading deputies and officers on a pursuit through city streets. Speeds during the chase reportedly reached upwards of 80 MPH, creating a dangerous situation for motorists.
Law enforcement terminated pursuit on Buffalo Soldier Trail, but the motorcyclist ultimately crashed at the intersection of Avenida Cochise and Buffalo Soldier Trail. The rider was taken into custody at the scene and evaluated by EMTs for injuries.
🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT:
Both northbound and southbound lanes of Buffalo Soldier Trail are currently reduced to one lane each way. Avenida Cochise can only make a right turn (northbound) on to Buffalo Soldier Trail.
⚠️ Drivers are urged to slow down, remain alert, and consider alternate routes if possible.
At this time, details regarding injuries or charges have not yet been officially released.
CoolFMLive is working to gather more information and will provide updates as they become available.
Stay safe, Sierra Vista.

THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS IS COMING THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 10TH! IT’S “CHECKING IN WITH JEFF DAVENPORT,” PRESENTED BY THE ED MORSE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP!
It’s been a year in the making, and this Friday, April 10th, the law enforcement torch run for Special Olympics will take place in Sierra Vista!
According to their information:
You can choose to meet everyone at the Rothery Center (3305 E Fry Blvd (www.google.com/maps/search/3305+E+Fry+Blvd?entry=gmail&source=g)) before 0800, just keep in mind the Run will end at the SVPD Station (911 N Coronado Drive). We will have a "shuttle" take runners from the station to the Rothery Center starting at around 0730.
We will take a group photo on/around the SVPD Bearcat before we kick off the run. There will be a marked patrol unit leading, and the Bearcat will tailgate. I just ask that ALL runners stay in the traffic lane directly behind the marked unit, do not stray into the other traffic lanes. Traffic will be moving past us down Fry and up Coronado.
THE TORCH. We will attempt to light the Torch and keep it lit, but in past years, it has been too windy. The Torch is also to be carried by the lead runner (whoever is in front), and it can only be carried by a Special Olympic Athlete OR a member of Law Enforcement. That rule only applies once it's lit... if you would like a photo with the Torch and you are not a LEO/SOAZ, we can make that happen.
We hope to see the entire community at this year’s law enforcement torch run for Special Olympics!

Three-vehicle collision results in two juvenile fatalities aged 7 and 9 years old according to Sierra Vista Police, Fire, and EMS
Emergency services responded to a report of a collision at the intersection at about 7:30 a.m. today. The collision involved a white sedan, a white pickup truck pulling a trailer, and a gold sedan. The pickup truck was reported to be rolled over on its side and on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by Sierra Vista Fire & Medical Services crews.
During the investigation, Sierra Vista Police Department officers learned that the white sedan was travelling northbound on Coronado Drive, while the pickup truck was travelling eastbound on the Highway 90 Bypass, and the gold sedan was stopped in the westbound left turn lane to turn from Highway 90 onto Coronado Drive.
The investigation found that the white sedan did not stop at the red light and collided with the truck. That collision caused both vehicles to swing around, hitting the gold sedan. The truck then rolled onto its side, facing westbound, and the white car stopped behind it facing south.
Emergency personnel, with the aid of nearby citizens, assisted and treated occupants of the vehicles. A passenger of the pickup was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All three occupants of the white sedan were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The two juvenile occupants were later pronounced deceased at the hospital; the adult was life-flighted to a Tucson hospital for trauma care.
The initial investigation indicates that the driver of the white sedan may have experienced a medical episode, which contributed to the collision.
