‼️TEEN ARRESTED IN COCHISE COUNTY AS PART OF LOUISIANA SWATTING INVESTIGATION‼️

HEREFORD, Ariz. — A 15-year-old juvenile in Cochise County has been arrested following an investigation involving alleged “swatting” incidents in Louisiana.

According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, detectives and crime scene personnel served a search warrant at a Hereford residence on Tuesday, September 15. The juvenile was taken into custody and faces charges of Making Terroristic Threats, a Class 3 felony, and False Reporting, a Class 6 felony.

The investigation remains ongoing in coordination with law enforcement agencies in Louisiana.

“Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Assists in Louisiana Terrorism Investigation

On August 20, 2026, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a Louisiana law enforcement agency regarding a terroristic threat they had in their jurisdiction, specifically related to a Swatting call at an elementary school.

(Swatting is a dangerous criminal act where someone makes a false 911 call to report a fake, high-risk emergency—such as an active shooter or bomb threat—with the goal of tricking police into sending a tactical SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team to an innocent person’s home or school.)

The initial information indicated that there was contact made with a 13-year-old male in the incident that occurred in Louisiana, which led to information developed for an additional potential suspect in Cochise County.

The Louisiana law enforcement agency advised that there was a second swatting call at a residence in another jurisdiction, with the investigation also leading to the same additional suspect in Cochise County.

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Cochise County Sheriff’s Office detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the suspect’s address in Hereford to serve a search warrant.

Contact was made with the parents of a 15-year-old male subject who had been identified as a second suspect in both cases, and items of evidence were seized. The juvenile was taken into custody and charged with Making Terroristic Threats (class 3 felony) and False Reporting (class 6 felony).

The investigation is being continued jointly by the Cochise County Sheriff's Office - Mark J. Dannels Sheriff and Louisiana law enforcement agencies.”

‼️ JUVENILES ARRESTED IN DOUGLAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIELD VANDALISM CASE ‼️

DOUGLAS, Ariz. — The Douglas Police Department has announced three arrests in connection with the vandalism reported at the Douglas High School football field earlier this month.

According to a media release from Douglas Police Department, detectives arrested three juveniles on September 15, 2026, in connection with the criminal damage incident that was reported on September 2.

Police identified the suspects as three juveniles, ages 14, 15 and 16. All three are from Bisbee, Arizona.

Each juvenile was charged with:

• Aggravated Criminal Damage
• Trespassing in the Second Degree

According to Douglas Police, incarceration was declined for all three juveniles. Juvenile referrals were forwarded to juvenile court, and all three were released to their legal guardians.

The arrests come nearly two weeks after damage was discovered at the Douglas High School football field ahead of the historic Bisbee–Douglas Pick football game.

ARIZONA MOTORCYCLISTS: NEW LANE-SPLITTING LAW NOW IN EFFECT‼️

Motorcyclists across Arizona should be aware of an important change to state law that took effect September 12, 2026.

Under the updated A.R.S. § 28-693 and § 28-903, certain forms of illegal lane splitting are now specifically classified as reckless driving.

The law applies when a motorcycle operator illegally passes an occupied vehicle within the same lane or rides between lanes of traffic or adjacent rows of vehicles, except when the state’s legal lane-filtering exception applies.

Reckless driving is a Class 2 misdemeanor in Arizona. A conviction may also result in a judge ordering driving privileges suspended for up to 90 days. Repeat offenses can carry significantly stronger penalties.

⚠️ LANE FILTERING IS STILL LEGAL.

Arizona law continues to allow a two-wheeled motorcycle to move past stopped traffic when it can be done safely and all of these requirements are met:

• The roadway has at least two adjacent lanes traveling in the same direction.
• The posted speed limit is 45 mph or less.
• The motorcycle travels no faster than 15 mph.

The simple takeaway: Lane splitting and lane filtering are not the same thing. Arizona still permits lane filtering under specific conditions, but illegal lane splitting can now result in a reckless-driving charge.

Motorcyclists and drivers are encouraged to understand the updated law and continue watching out for one another on Arizona roads.
