TOMBSTONE, Ariz. — Tombstone High School just scored a BIG win — and an even bigger opportunity could be ahead!

Tombstone High School has officially been selected as a $5K Fridays sweepstakes winner through T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights program, earning $5,000 in funding for the school!

But here’s where it gets REALLY exciting…

🏆 TOMBSTONE IS NOW IN THE RUNNING FOR A FOOTBALL FIELD TRANSFORMATION VALUED AT $1 MILLION!

Head Football Coach Anthony Ciccariello applied for the program with hopes of improving the school’s football field, lighting and technology — creating a safer, more modern facility that reflects the pride of Tombstone and its surrounding community.

And this would be about much more than football.

Upgrades could help Tombstone expand livestreaming so alumni and families can watch from anywhere, attract regional events, support local businesses and create an improved community gathering place for youth sports, graduations and other events.

The competition is only getting started. More than $8.4 MILLION is up for grabs nationwide this year, including:

- $25,000 for 40 finalists
- $250,000 for four division champions
- $1 MILLION toward a football field transformation for ONE grand-prize winner!

The grand-prize winner will be announced November 12.

This is an incredible opportunity for Tombstone High School — and as the competition moves forward, there will be opportunities for the COMMUNITY to get involved and rally behind the Yellow Jackets!

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — Some exciting news for Buena High School and the Sierra Vista community!

Buena High School has been randomly selected as a $5K Fridays sweepstakes winner through T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights — earning $5,000 in funding for the school!

But this could be just the beginning.

Buena is also competing nationally for an opportunity to receive a football field transformation valued at $1 MILLION!

Friday Night 5G Lights celebrates small-town high school football and the communities that rally behind their teams. This year, more than $8.4 million is up for grabs, including:

$5,000 weekly sweepstakes prizes
$25,000 for 40 finalists
$250,000 for four division champions
$1 MILLION toward a football field transformation for one grand prize winner

Buena High School Athletic Technician Stephanie Peck submitted the application with hopes of helping modernize the school’s aging athletic facilities. The application highlights needs including improvements to the football field, weight room and athletic equipment — upgrades that could provide safer and more equitable spaces for Buena’s student-athletes to train and compete.

For Sierra Vista, an opportunity like this goes far beyond football. Friday nights bring together students, families, alumni and community members, and a major investment in Buena’s athletic facilities could have an impact for years to come.

The grand prize winner is scheduled to be announced November 12, and as the competition progresses, communities will have opportunities to rally behind their schools and VOTE.

And Buena isn’t the only Arizona school that can get involved. Eligible schools in communities with populations under 150,000 can still apply for Friday Night 5G Lights through September 18.
