A Sierra Vista Staple Announces Its Final Chapter ‼️

For more than three decades, Schlotzsky’s has been much more than a restaurant in Sierra Vista—it has been a staple of the community. A place where families gathered for lunch, coworkers met over a meal, local car clubs made it a regular stop, and countless friendships and memories were created.

After 31 years of proudly serving Sierra Vista, owner Sarah “Jo” Mann has announced that Schlotzsky’s Sierra Vista will permanently close at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, when her franchise agreement officially comes to an end.

Ms. Jo wants the community to know that this decision is not the result of financial hardship or business difficulties. Instead, it marks the conclusion of her remarkable 31-year journey as a Schlotzsky’s franchise owner.

Throughout those years, the restaurant stood alongside the community through both celebrations and challenges. From everyday lunches and family dinners to navigating difficult times such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Monument Fire, the people of Sierra Vista continued to support Schlotzsky’s with incredible loyalty. For that unwavering support, Ms. Jo says she will be forever grateful.

In her message to the community, she shared:

“After 31 years of being your neighborhood Schlotzsky’s, I regret to inform you that we will be permanently closing our doors on August 12, 2026. It has been our sincere honor and privilege to be your favorite deli.”

Over the years, Schlotzsky’s has become part of the fabric of Sierra Vista. It has welcomed generations of customers, military families, first responders, students, local businesses, community organizations, and visitors alike. Whether it was a quick lunch, a weekly gathering with friends, a stop after school, or a meeting place for local car enthusiasts, the restaurant has served as a familiar and welcoming place for thousands of people.

Ms. Jo extends her deepest appreciation to every customer who has walked through the doors over the past 31 years. She wants the community to know that your kindness, loyalty, and continued support are what made this journey so meaningful.

While the doors will close on August 12, the memories made inside them will live on. The friendships formed, the conversations shared, and the countless meals enjoyed together are a testament to what made Schlotzsky’s so much more than just a restaurant.

UPDATE - VALLEY UNION HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL:

Valley Union High School has released the attached info-graphic to address the rumors and clarify the current status of their football program.

From the school:

Football has not been canceled, though the school will not have a Varsity team playing this year. Practices are taking place as scheduled. A coach has been secured (Warren Hawkins) and will be presented to the Governing Board through the normal approval process at the Aug 5th meeting. After saying goodbye to 9 graduating starting position seniors last season, the decision to compete at the JV level this season was made with student safety, player development, and the long-term success of the program in mind.
