FLOCK CAMERA POLE CUT DOWN IN BENSON — VANDALISM OR VIGILANTE ACTION⁉️
BENSON, Ariz. — A Flock Safety camera pole was found cut down Sunday evening near Ocotillo Road and Jackson Street in Benson, near the entrance to Interstate 10.
The incident was reported at approximately 6:30 p.m. The entire pole had been cut down, leaving the camera and equipment on the ground.
Benson Police responded to the scene, and the camera equipment was ultimately loaded into the back of a patrol vehicle and removed from the area.
At this time, CoolFMLive has not independently confirmed who was responsible, why the pole was cut down, or whether any arrests or citations have been made.
The incident raises a larger conversation that has been taking place in communities across the country regarding Flock cameras and automated license plate reader technology.
COOLFM WANTS TO KNOW: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT FLOCK CAMERAS?
Do you believe these cameras are an important law enforcement tool that can help locate stolen vehicles, identify suspects and solve crimes?
Or do you have concerns about privacy, surveillance and how information collected by these systems is stored and used?
Share your thoughts respectfully in the comments.

CoolFMLive will provide additional information regarding the incident if it becomes available.

FORT HUACHUCA & SEACOM JOIN FORCES TO STRENGTHEN EMERGENCY RESPONSE IN COCHISE COUNTY
SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — A new partnership between Fort Huachuca and the Southeastern Arizona Communications Center (SEACOM) is set to strengthen emergency communications and public safety both on the installation and throughout the surrounding community.
After more than two years of negotiations, U.S. Army Garrison Fort Huachuca and SEACOM officially signed an Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA) on Thursday, August 6.
Garrison Commander Col. M. Dervan Hughes and Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels signed the agreement at the SEACOM Conference Room in Sierra Vista.
Under the agreement, SEACOM will provide Fort Huachuca with part-time emergency dispatch services, including the handling of 911 calls.
SEACOM will provide these services:
• Monday through Friday from 10 PM to 6 AM
• 24 hours a day on weekends
• 24 hours a day on federal holidays
Before the partnership is fully implemented, Fort Huachuca and SEACOM will work to integrate their emergency communication systems. That process includes coordinating radio frequencies, establishing interoperable radio communications and ensuring 911 calls originating from Fort Huachuca can be properly routed to and processed by SEACOM.
The agreement is expected to improve efficiency while strengthening coordination between military and local emergency responders — an important step for a community where Fort Huachuca and Cochise County agencies regularly work side by side.
Sheriff Mark Dannels called the partnership “community policing at its best” and emphasized its significance for public safety in a rural county.
The agreement carries an initial one-year term and can be renewed annually for up to nine additional years. Fort Huachuca currently maintains six Intergovernmental Support Agreements with local partners and another four with regional partners.
This new partnership represents another major connection between Fort Huachuca and the surrounding community — bringing military and local resources together with the shared goal of improving emergency response, public safety and readiness across Cochise County.

❤️ SOMEONE YOU SHOULD KNOW: PAMELA DOTY ❤️
Sometimes the moments that make the biggest difference happen quietly — without cameras, recognition, or any expectation of praise.
Today, we want to recognize Pamela Doty, a Fort Huachuca Commissary employee and Certified Nursing Assistant, for stepping up when a member of our community needed help.
Recently, Pamela was working at the commissary when a young boy came running inside asking for help. His grandfather had fallen in the parking lot and was unable to get back to his feet.
Pamela didn’t hesitate.
She immediately went outside to check on the gentleman. Drawing on her training and experience as a C.N.A., Pamela assessed the situation before retrieving a gait belt she keeps in her vehicle. She then used it to safely assist the gentleman back to his feet.
There was no expectation of recognition. Pamela simply saw someone who needed help and chose to act.
It’s moments like these that remind us what community is all about — looking out for one another, stepping forward when someone needs a hand, and using our own skills and experience to make a difference.
Pamela’s compassion, quick thinking, and willingness to help turned an unexpected and difficult moment into a reminder that there are good people all around us.
For that, Pamela Doty is certainly Someone You Should Know.
Thank you, Pamela, for being there when someone in our community needed you most.

PROPOSED SOLAR FIELD EXPANSION, BATTERY STORAGE FACILITY IN WHETSTONE RAISES CONCERNS.
Saturday August 8th at 2 pm dozens of concerned residents attended a community meeting at Quail Ridge RV Park in Whetstone to hear about the Babacomori Ranch solar field expansion including thousands of new solar panels, a 160 megawatt battery energy storage system ( BESS) and concerns it could be turned into a possible data center .
The proposed development expansion is near Chula Vista Estates on the Hwy 82, west of the Hwy 90 intersection and just East of the Mustang Mtns in Whetstone on the +10,000 acre Babacomori Ranch.
Resident concerns include BESS toxic smoke release plus potential fire hazard, mass water consumption from battery storage and possible contamination of the environment, noise pollution, decreased value of nearby homes, property insurance increase or termination due to high risk of development, lack of special emergency response training, lack of transparency by developers.
The project will be discussed at the next County Planning and Zoning meeting on Wednesday August 12 at 4pm in the Board of Supervisors chambers on Melody Lane in Bisbee.
CoolFMLive will continue to follow this developnent

BRIAN MCINTYRE FIRED FROM COCHISE COUNTY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE‼️
COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. — Former Cochise County Attorney Brian McIntyre has been terminated from his position as Chief Criminal Deputy with the Cochise County Attorney’s Office, according to reports
McIntyre previously served as Cochise County’s elected county attorney before Lori Zucco took office. Following the change in leadership, Zucco retained McIntyre within the office and appointed him Chief Criminal Deputy, placing him in a senior position handling criminal prosecutions.
According to Terri Jo Neff of Herald Review Media, McIntyre’s departure follows concerns regarding his handling of criminal cases, including reported missed deadlines and questions surrounding his preparation for upcoming trials. Reports are that cases previously assigned to McIntyre are being transferred to other prosecutors.
One case that had recently drawn attention was State v. John J. Daly III. Daly, a former U.S. Border Patrol supervisor, is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Bisbee apartment in October 2001. The allegations against Daly remain allegations unless and until proven in court.
The Daly trial had been scheduled to begin Tuesday. County Attorney Lori Zucco informed the court that morning that McIntyre had been hospitalized and was unable to move forward with the proceeding.
Days later, McIntyre was terminated.
Zucco reportedly notified Cochise County Administrator Sharon Gilman of McIntyre’s termination Friday, after which other county officials were informed.
McIntyre’s history with the County Attorney’s Office extends well beyond his most recent position. He previously served multiple terms as Cochise County Attorney. His attempt to seek another term in 2024 ended after a court challenge to his nominating petitions resulted in his removal from the ballot. McIntyre had also faced significant public attention following his January 2023 arrest on an Extreme DUI charge.
His termination comes during a period of heightened public attention surrounding the Cochise County Attorney’s Office and only days after the sentencing of former Chief Civil Deputy County Attorney Paul Correa.
CoolFMLive is continuing to follow this developing story and will provide additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding McIntyre’s termination, the reassignment of his criminal cases, and any statements from McIntyre or the Cochise County Attorney’s Office as they become available.
