โMission Failedโ: Rooftop Skateboarding Ends with Police Response ๐นโผ๏ธ
Two juveniles are facing trespassing-related arrests after climbing onto the roof of the Goodwill building in Sierra Vista to skateboard.
According to a Sierra Vista Police Department incident report, officers responded to a business in the 2300 block of E. Fry Boulevard at approximately 4:49 p.m. on July 9 after an employee reported juveniles skateboarding on the roof.
The reporting employee showed officers a photograph that allegedly captured the two juveniles using an electrical box to climb onto a ladder and gain access to the rooftop. Officers located the juvenilesโ backpacks and clothing on the roof before spotting the two individuals skateboarding on the far west end of the building.
Backup officers arrived, made contact with both juveniles, and identified them. According to the report, both were informed they were under arrest for trespassing and their parents were contacted to respond to the scene.
Police noted that the area had multiple โNo Trespassingโ and โNo Skateboardingโ signs posted and emphasized that climbing onto commercial rooftops is illegal and creates a significant safety risk.
Both juveniles were ultimately referred to their parents for the trespassing offense, and a Victimโs Rights packet was provided to the propertyโs management company. The case was cleared through juvenile arrests.
While this may sound like something out of a video game, police say the real-world consequences are serious. Rooftops can contain fragile surfaces, electrical equipment, skylights, and other hazards that can quickly turn a dangerous stunt into a life-threatening incident.

๐๏ธ Step Into Arizona History at Carr House This Sunday ๐๏ธ
Please join Friends of the Huachuca Mountains on Sunday, July 19, 1:30 p.m. at Carr House for a fascinating program presented by author Jan Cleere.
For more than ten years, Jan has written about the women who influenced the growth and development of Arizona in her column โWestern Womenโ that appears monthly in the Arizona Daily Star newspaper.
She has compiled these columns into her latest book, 100 Western Women: the Bold, Brave, Gutsy Women of Arizonaโs Past. Come and hear Jan talk about the amazing women who helped shape Arizona.
Pictured are John and Ila Healey, who lived in the meadow below Carr House from 1936 until 1972. Ila was Carr Canyon's own gutsy woman, who once caught a live mountain lion and packed it back to the ranch tied behind her saddle.
History doesn't record her horse's reaction to having a live mountain lion on his back.
Carr House is located at 1011 E. Carr Canyon Road. The location can be found on Google Maps.

๐ง๏ธ WEATHER OUTLOOK: Flood Watch Issued for Cochise County Today July 16, 2026
*UPDATE: Flash Flood Warning issued July 16 at 1:51PM MST until July 16 at 4:45PM MST by NWS Tucson AZ
Cochise, AZ
Issued: Jul 16, 2026 at 1:51 PM
Until: Jul 16, 2026 at 4:45 PM
Source: NWS Tucson AZ
FFWTWC
The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 445 PM MST.
* At 151 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.8 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Bisbee and Naco.
This includes the following highways...
Route 90 near mile marker 336. Route 80 between mile markers 333 and 353. Route 92 between mile markers 349 and 355.**
Residents across Cochise County should prepare for an active monsoon day as the potential for widespread heavy rainfall increases, particularly across western Cochise County, on Thursday, July 16.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch beginning at 2:00 PM today and continuing through late tonight due to the threat of heavy rainfall capable of producing localized flooding.
Current forecasts indicate that some locations could receive 1 to 3 inches of rain, with the Weather Prediction Center placing portions of southeastern Arizona under a Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall. While not everyone will experience heavy rain, thunderstorms that develop may produce intense downpours in a short period of time, leading to rapid rises in washes, creeks, low-water crossings, and other flood-prone areas.
In addition to the heavy rain threat, strong thunderstorm outflow winds may create hazardous conditions. Wind gusts could become strong enough to produce areas of blowing dust, reducing visibility on area roadways, while isolated storms may also generate damaging wind gusts capable of downing tree limbs and causing minor property damage.
If you encounter flooded roadways, never attempt to drive through standing or moving water. Conditions can change quickly during monsoon storms, and even shallow water can become dangerous.
CoolFMLive will continue to monitor todayโs weather and provide updates throughout the day as conditions develop. Stay weather aware, have multiple ways to receive warnings, and take extra caution if you have travel plans this afternoon or evening.
This Weather update probably brought to you by Ed Morse Ford Sierra Vista
