Behind so many doors in our community are husbands, wives, sons, daughters, family members, and friends quietly carrying the responsibility of caring for someone they love. While caregiving can be one of the most meaningful acts of love, it can also be physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausting.

Senior Helpers wants caregivers to know one very important message:

💜 You are not alone.

Beginning this month, Senior Helpers is offering FREE Caregiver Training & Community Support Meetings designed to provide guidance, encouragement, practical skills, and a supportive environment for those caring for aging parents, spouses, family members, or loved ones at home.

This training is perfect for those who:
* Care for a family member
* Support a spouse or loved one at home
* Have aging parents who depend on them
* Want to provide the best possible care while receiving support themselves

Participants will learn:
• Safe mobility and injury prevention techniques
• How to navigate difficult moments involving confusion, memory loss, and frustration
• Daily caregiving strategies that protect both the caregiver and their loved one
• Warning signs to watch for and when to seek help
• The importance of self-care while caring for others

🚨 OFF-DUTY SVPD OFFICER ARRESTED FOR DUI 🚨

The following information was released by the Sierra Vista Police Department:

“On Monday, June 8, at about 11:40 p.m., a Sierra Vista police officer conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. Upon contact with the driver, it was determined he was an off-duty SVPD officer. After observing signs of impairment, the investigating officer requested assistance from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, CCSO deputies assumed responsibility of the investigation.

Deputies conducted a DUI investigation, including field sobriety tests, and determined the driver was impaired. CCSO then arrested the off-duty officer for driving under the influence.”

According to information provided by the Sierra Vista Police Department, the off-duty officer arrested was identified as Timothy Palatucci.

CoolFMLive has confirmed with the Sierra Vista Police Department that Timothy Palatucci is no longer employed with the agency as a result of this incident.

SVPD Chief Chris Hiser issued the following statement regarding the incident:

“The on-duty officer’s response to this incident demonstrates the professionalism and integrity we expect from every member of our department. I commend the officer who made the traffic stop for doing the right thing. The officer took appropriate action and requested an independent agency to conduct the investigation. That decision reflects our commitment to accountability and public trust.

Our community expects us to uphold the law fairly and consistently. No one is above the law.”

The Sierra Vista Police Department stated that the decision to request assistance from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office ensured an independent investigation into the incident.

This exciting PDGA C-Tier sanctioned event, sponsored by Discraft, will bring players together for a weekend of competition, camaraderie, and fun on a unique course set against the beautiful backdrop of Sierra Vista.

💗👶 COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR LOCAL FAMILY FACING A NICU JOURNEY 👶💗

A local family is asking for the community’s support as they navigate an incredibly difficult and emotional chapter in their lives.

Just weeks ago, what was expected to be a normal pregnancy suddenly became high-risk, resulting in a lengthy hospitalization for mother Gina. Due to serious complications, baby Emilie made her arrival much earlier than expected at just 28 weeks and 4 days gestation.

Although she is proving to be a strong little fighter every day, baby Emilie remains in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where doctors anticipate she will continue receiving specialized care until approximately the second week of August.

The unexpected medical emergency has placed significant emotional and financial strain on the family. Gina has been unable to work due to her hospitalization and recovery, while her husband, Elijah, has been balancing work, caring for his wife, supporting their newborn daughter, and providing for their family. Frequent hospital visits and missed work have greatly impacted the family’s income.

At home, the family’s two 3-year-old sons, Hunter and Izel, have also been affected by the situation. During this challenging time, they have often stayed with family and friends while their parents focus on medical care and being by baby Emilie’s side. The boys have not yet had the opportunity to meet their baby sister, and the family eagerly awaits the day they can all be together under one roof.

The family is seeking assistance with essential expenses including rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and medical-related costs while they continue this difficult journey. Their greatest hope is to keep their home stable and secure until baby Emilie is healthy enough to come home.
