Activities for Kids
Saturday, 4/27, at the San Pedro House we are staging our Celebrate the San Pedro! event. We are especially hoping for a turnout of families and have a number of activities for kids. We are having an art show for kids with prizes. We will have a coloring table with nature-oriented prints and crayons - we will recognize the best ones. We have several fun activities, including a book signing with things for kids, a youth-oriented display about pollinators, and our famous bone box with bones, tracks, pelts and more designed to capture the imagination of kids.
Most of all, we are offering a Nature Walk to the river at 9:15. Our education docents will take a group of kids to the San Pedro to teach them about its ecosystem - the plants and animals who live there. At the river, they will gather samples of microscopic creatures and bring them back to the House to examine them under microscopes. What a great way to spark interest in Nature and the Outdoors!
