There is something wonderfully humbling about the Milky Way.
Long before there were cities, highways, cameras, or social media posts, people stood beneath this same river of light and wondered. They gave it names. They built stories around it. They followed it across oceans, deserts, and generations. Every culture seemed to recognize that this glowing path overhead was more than just stars scattered across darkness. It was a question written across the sky. A reminder that there was something beyond the next hill.
What fascinates me most is that the light reaching us from much of the Milky Way tonight is ancient. Some of it began its journey before the Roman Empire existed. Some before the pyramids were built. While we worry about deadlines, elections, bills, and tomorrow's weather forecast, those photons continue arriving on schedule, carrying messages from a past so distant that human history barely registers against it.
Yet the effect remains the same.
A child sees it and imagines adventure.
A philosopher sees it and imagines meaning.
A scientist sees it and imagines discovery.
A photographer sees it and imagines one more reason to stay out long after bedtime.
Different minds.
Different centuries.
The same sky.
Perhaps that's why the Milky Way has never lost its power. It isn't merely a collection of stars. It's a bridge connecting every generation that has ever tilted its head upward and asked, "What lies beyond?"
Thousands, even millions of years have passed - the questions remain.
So does the wonder. It's that 'wonder' we take into a new week ahead to face both adventures and challenges.

‼️📢 SSVEC Resumes Drone Inspection Program 📢‼️
Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC) is launching its third year of drone-
based inspections of high-voltage power lines and infrastructure. The program aims to
strengthen service reliability and improve community safety across the Cooperative’s
service territory.
Building on the success of the 2024 pilot program, SSVEC has once again partnered with Firmatek, a San Antonio, Texas-based leader in utility drone inspections.
“Last year’s inspections of more than 8,250 poles allowed us to identify several significant
issues and make proactive repairs that reduced outages and enhanced safety,” said
Nathan Hodges, Senior Vice President of Operations at SSVEC. “We’re excited to continue this important work with Firmatek.”
Inspections are scheduled to begin on June 15 and are expected to wrap up by the end of
July. All Firmatek pilots are FAA-certified and bring thousands of hours of flight experience
to the program.
The drones will fly approximately 10 feet above poles located primarily along public
highways and roads. They will capture still photographs only — no video or audio will be
recorded. Firmatek vehicles are clearly marked with company logos, and pilots will carry
proper identification. TraZic disruptions are not anticipated.

🇺🇸🕊️ A LIFE OF SERVICE, LOVE, AND SELFLESSNESS HONORED 🕊️🇺🇸
Yesterday June 5, 2026, family, friends, fellow veterans, and community members gathered at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery to honor and celebrate the life of Sergeant Ivy Nichole Unruh.
The service was beautifully attended, filled with heartfelt memories, tears, laughter, and an overwhelming outpouring of love for a young woman whose impact on the world far exceeded her 25 years.
Ivy was many things to many people. She was a daughter, sister, friend, Marine, creator, animal lover, and protector. Known affectionately as “Boogie,” “Beastly,” “Bitely,” “Brooklyn,” and “Kid,” she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness was genuine, her loyalty unwavering, and her willingness to help others knew no bounds.
A proud United States Marine Corps Sergeant, Ivy served her country with honor and dedication. Even after transitioning to the active reserves, her commitment to service remained a defining part of who she was. She embodied the values of courage, selflessness, and sacrifice both in and out of uniform.
Beyond her military service, Ivy’s creative spirit shined brightly. Whether designing elaborate costumes, creating beautiful garments, caring for her beloved dogs, or simply making those around her smile, she approached life with passion, imagination, and heart.
Perhaps the greatest reflection of who Ivy was came in her final act of generosity. As an organ donor, she helped save the lives of six individuals, providing hope and healing to families she never had the opportunity to meet. Even in her passing, Ivy continued serving others.
Yesterday’s military honors served as a powerful reminder of the respect and gratitude owed to a woman who gave so much of herself to her family, her friends, her community, and her country.
While words can never fully capture the loss felt by those who loved her, the legacy Ivy leaves behind is one of compassion, strength, service, and love. Her story will continue to inspire others, and her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
On behalf of the entire CoolFMLive community, we extend our deepest condolences to Ivy’s family, friends, fellow Marines, and all who are grieving her loss.
🇺🇸 Rest easy, Sergeant Ivy Nichole Unruh.
Your watch has ended, but your legacy endures.
