🚨 PUBLIC’S HELP REQUESTED: HIT-AND-RUN UNDER INVESTIGATION IN SIERRA VISTA 🚨
The Sierra Vista Police Department is investigating a reported hit-and-run collision that occurred at Sonic Drive-In in Sierra Vista at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.
According to the reporting party, a red pickup truck backed into a black Ford SUV before leaving the scene without stopping to exchange information. The driver is believed to have fled eastbound toward Fry Boulevard.
The vehicle involved is described as an older-model red two-door pickup truck, believed to be a Ford Ranger or similar model. The driver is reportedly believed to be a juvenile male with shaggy blonde hair. These details are based on witness information and have not been independently confirmed by law enforcement.
A report has been filed with the Sierra Vista Police Department, and investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the area as part of the ongoing investigation.
If you recognize the truck or have any information that could assist investigators, please contact the Sierra Vista Police Department at (520) 452-7500.

At 438 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the Benson. Between 1.5 and 2.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5
to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Benson.
This includes the following highways...
Route 90 between mile markers 290 and 293. Route 80 between mile
markers 293 and 295. Interstate 10 between mile markers 302 and 309.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

🏀🔥 FROM APACHE TO THE NBA! 🔥🏀
The journey that began at Cochise College has reached another incredible milestone.
Former Cochise College All-American Oscar Cluff has signed with the Houston Rockets as an undrafted free agent and will compete with the organization during the 2026 NBA Summer League, which begins July 3 in Las Vegas.
For Cochise College Men’s Basketball, Cluff’s signing is another reminder that the path from Douglas, Arizona, can lead all the way to basketball’s biggest stage.
The 6-foot-11 center arrived at Cochise College from Queensland, Australia, and quickly became one of the premier post players in junior college basketball. During his two seasons with the Apaches from 2021-23, Cluff helped lead Cochise to 58 victories, a 2022 NJCAA Region 1 Championship, and earned NJCAA Second Team All-America honors. As a sophomore, he averaged 18.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 75 percent from the field.
His success at Cochise College Athletics opened the door to NCAA Division I basketball, where he continued to rise through the ranks. After stops at Washington State, South Dakota State, and Purdue University, Cluff established himself as one of the nation’s top centers.
During his collegiate journey, he earned numerous accolades, including Summit League Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-Summit League, Summit League All-Defensive Team honors, and helped lead Purdue to the Elite Eight of the 2026 NCAA Tournament while posting the second-highest single-season field goal percentage in school history.
Although his name was not called during the 2026 NBA Draft, his professional dream remained alive. Shortly after the draft concluded, Cluff signed with the Houston Rockets and will now have the opportunity to showcase his talents in Las Vegas as he competes for a spot within the Rockets organization.
Oscar’s rise from an international recruit at Cochise College to an NBA Summer League opportunity is a testament to years of hard work, perseverance, and continuous development. His story serves as an inspiration to current and future Apaches, proving that dedication and determination can take you from a small college in Southern Arizona to the doorstep of the NBA.
Congratulations, Oscar! The entire Cochise College family, Cochise County, and basketball fans across Arizona are proud of you and will be cheering you on as you take this exciting next step in your professional career.
