🏆⚡️SSVEC Receives National Recognition for Serving Its Communities ⚡🏆

Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC) has been honored with the 2026 Electric Cooperative Purpose Award from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), recognizing the cooperative’s commitment to supporting the communities and members it serves.

The award highlights the actions SSVEC took during the 2022 surge in global fuel prices, when rising energy costs created challenges for many rural families and businesses. In response, the cooperative directed 100% of its annual operating margin to reduce more than $8 million in member fuel bank debt, helping lower energy cost pressures for its member-owners.

“This recognition reflects what cooperatives are built to do,” said Jason Bowling, CEO of SSVEC. “When our members faced rising energy costs, our board, employees, and cooperative partners worked together to deliver relief while protecting the long-term strength of the cooperative.”

Today, SSVEC continues to provide safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to more than 50,000 members across Cochise, Graham, and Pima counties, while working to protect members from future energy market volatility.

The cooperative received the award during the PowerXchange, a national gathering of electric cooperative leaders from across the country.

BISBEE, Arizona — Bisbee Vogue, Inc. is pleased to present Curiosities for a Cause, a vintage, artful, one-of-a-kind curated collection of furniture, art & housewares for sale, generously donated by the Patricia Steward Trust for the benefit of Bisbee Vogue, Inc. and St. Patrick Play Grounds.

The event will be held at Loretto School (est. 1907) at 100 Quality Hill Road in Bisbee, to be held Friday, March 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The collection includes more than 200 pieces by local, national and international artists in addition to 30 pieces of vintage and custom furniture from her home in Bisbee and her horse ranch in Mexico.
About Patricia Ann Steward - Patricia Ann Steward (1949–2020) lived a life defined by creativity, entrepreneurship, and community. Born in Phoenix to two of the original owners of National Car Rental, she developed her business instincts early. In the 1960s, she immersed herself in the era’s music scene, forming friendships with artists including Janis Joplin and Grace Slick.

Dog licensing in Sierra Vista AZ is easier than ever!

Sierra Vista’s Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center has partnered with DocuPet to offer residents a convenient, modern licensing system designed to protect pets and bring them home safely if they go missing.

This online licensing platform allows residents to license their dogs from the comfort of their own home, without having to drive to the shelter or mail checks and documentation. It’s easy, efficient, and more accessible.

Plus, through the program every registration includes a DocuPet tag and access to HomeSafe, a 24/7 lost pet service. Each tag features a unique ID code linked to a secure online pet profile. These tools help expedite lost pet reunifications, often before dogs enter a shelter.

“Licensing is an important responsibility for dog owners, but it should also provide peace of mind,” Sierra Vista Animal Control Supervisor Arleen Garcia says. “By partnering with DocuPet, we’re making the licensing process simple while ensuring local pet owners have extra protection if their pet ever goes missing.”

Licensing requires proof of rabies vaccination. The prices remain the same, unless ordering a specialty tag. The cost is $20 per unaltered dog, and $5 for dogs that are spayed or neutered. Proof of spay or neuter is required for the discount.

Arizona law and City code require that dogs maintained within city limits be licensed annually. Late fees for lapsed licenses will be waived until Aug.19. Learn more⬇️

Tombstone Wild West Days Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with special attention to the service of our troops past and present🇺🇸

THE ROAD TO 250:

On Friday, Tombstone is proud to be a host stop for The Road to 250: Arizona Traveling History Museum, part of the America250AZ celebration from 10am-5pm and Saturday from10am-2pm.

PARADE
Parade on Saturday begins at 11AM. Prizes will be given to those entries who show red, white, and blue or pay specific tribute to the Marines and Navy.

STREET ENTERTAINMENT
There will be entertainment on Allen Street from after the parade on Saturday until 2pm and Sunday from 10AM to 2PM.
