TOMBSTONE RALLIES AROUND LOCAL COFFEE SHOP OWNER AFTER LOSING DAUGHTER IN I-10 CRASH
TOMBSTONE, Ariz. — The Tombstone community is rallying around a local business owner following a heartbreaking crash Sunday morning that claimed the lives of her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend.
Hunter Barrows, who would have turned 27 in just a few days, and her boyfriend, Luciano “Luke” Johnson of Tucson, tragically lost their lives in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and semi-truck on Interstate 10 near Benson AZ.
Hunter was the daughter of Kelly Warren, co-owner of the newly opened Ike's Iron Horse Cafe in Tombstone alongside business partner Bryan Kidd.
According to information provided to CoolFMLive, Hunter and Luke had been staying with Kelly and were on their way to work at Ike’s Iron Horse Cafe when the crash occurred.
The tragedy comes during an especially painful week for the family. Hunter’s birthday would have been Tuesday, while Kelly’s birthday is today.
Hunter leaves behind a 4-year-old daughter, Hazel. Luke was also a father to a young daughter.
Friends, customers and members of the Tombstone community have been stopping by Ike’s Iron Horse Cafe, leaving flowers and messages of support for Kelly and the family as they navigate an unimaginable loss. The store as you can expect will be closed until further notice.

As temperatures remain warm and monsoon activity continues across Southern Arizona, residents are reminded to watch where they step and stay aware of their surroundings when spending time outdoors.
Snakes are a natural part of our desert environment, and encounters can happen around hiking trails, yards, garages, sheds, landscaping, wood piles, and other shaded or protected areas.
A few simple precautions can help reduce the chance of an unwanted encounter:
• Watch where you place your hands and feet, especially around rocks, brush, tall grass, and debris.
• Use a flashlight when walking outside after dark.
• Keep children and pets nearby and pay attention to areas they may investigate.
• Wear closed-toe shoes or boots when hiking or working outdoors.
• Never reach into an area you cannot clearly see.
• If you encounter a snake, give it plenty of space and do not attempt to handle, move, or provoke it.
Most snakes want to avoid people and will move away when given the opportunity. The best approach is simply to stay alert, maintain a safe distance, and allow wildlife to move along on its own.
Southern Arizona is home to an incredible variety of wildlife. Being aware of our surroundings helps keep both people and animals safe.

**UPDATE: Roadway has been cleared**
SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — First responders are on the scene of a two-vehicle accident with reported injuries near the intersection of Walmart and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway in Sierra Vista.
Emergency personnel are responding to the collision, and motorists traveling through the area should be prepared for possible traffic delays or temporary restrictions while crews work the scene.
The extent of the injuries is not known at this time. Drivers are asked to slow down, remain alert, and give first responders plenty of room to safely work.
Please use caution if traveling through the area and consider an alternate route if possible.

**This is what Coolfmlive has as unconfirmed information thus far: Eastbound vehicle crossed into the Westbound semi and into and under the trailer. Taking out the rear axles. The vehicle was under the trailer. Westbound opened to one, the left, lane. Last comment was traffic backed up to the Pomerene Road exit from all the way to almost Skyline exit.
There are believed to be 2 fatalities in this accident. Both from the vehicle that struck the semi truck. This has not yet been officially confirmed. Accident occured around 9am Sunday morning.

🚨SIERRA VISTA 911🚨 9:30PM 08/15/2026 Motorcycle strikes vehicle on Highway 92 near Buffalo Soldier Trail. It appears motorcyclist recieved minor injuries with no exact cause of who exactly was at fault at this time.
Be advised of restrictions for southbound traffic while emergency crews are on scene. Avoid the area and be prepared to slow down and be diverted if necessary. No right turns off BST but going straight or left onto 92 is ok.
Please obey officers doing traffic control and allow first responders to work safely to clear the roadway.
