SV Glowride Saturday December 21st Veterans Memorial Park Sierra Vista AZ 3pm-10pm. GLOW RIDE DEPARTS 6PM. Get ready to light up the streets on December 21, 2024, as the annual SV Glowride brings holiday cheer and glowing excitement to the Sierra Vista community! This event promises a full day of fun, food, and festivities for all ages, so mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable experience.

Event Schedule

Vendor Set-Up: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Vendors are encouraged to arrive early and complete their setup during this window to ensure a smooth start.

Vehicle Arrivals: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Glowride participants with decorated vehicles must arrive during this time to get ready for the evening festivities.

Gates Open for the Public: 3:00 PM Bring your family and friends to explore the vendor booths, enjoy food, and take in the holiday atmosphere.

Christmas Cookie Eating Contest: 4:00 PM: Think you’ve got a sweet tooth? Test your cookie-eating skills and compete for the title of Cookie Champion!

Kids Glowride: 4:30 PM
Little ones can join the fun and showcase their festive bikes, scooters, or other glow-up rides in this special event.

Safety Briefing: 5:00 PM
All participants in the main Glowride must attend the safety briefing to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride.

Glowride Kickoff: 6:00 PM Sharp The main event begins departing from the Martin Luther King Jr Entrance. Watch or join a parade of glowing vehicles and festive participants lighting up the evening. The Landmark Cafe area on the west end to Carmichael st is a great spot to view as well.

ALA Sierra Vista has achieved six consecutive wins, with #3 CJ Christopher Williams leading the nation in scoring, averaging 42.7 points per game!

Coach Williams provides a recap of the past week:

On Monday, December 16th, the boys' varsity basketball team defeated Our Lady of the Sun 77-72. CJ Williams secured a triple-double with 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Porter Jones scored 30 points, including eight 3-pointers, while Sam Daines added 11 rebounds to secure the victory.

On Wednesday the team won 57-39 against AJO HS, despite the bus breaking down and arriving late. CJ Williams led with 29 points, eight assists, and eight steals. Porter Jones scored 16 points, while Sam Daines had six points, a season-high 17 rebounds, and four steals. Bryce Adams made a crucial three-pointer, Owen Ohnsted added two points, and Tabias Chastain scored one point. Griffin Krieg showcased his defensive prowess, adding five rebounds, two steals, and holding the opposing team's leading scorer to 12 points.

On Thursday, the team secured an 86-51 victory, overcoming a slow start. CJ Williams scored 55 points, while Griffin Krieg demonstrated exceptional defensive skills. Porter Jones added 11 points, Owen Ohnsted scored eight points and four rebounds, Bryce Adams had six points, and Tobias Chastain secured 13 rebounds and six points.

ALA Sierra Vista High School now holds a 7-2 record in their first season of play, with the boys on a six-game winning streak! They will have a break until January 8th, when they face Academy with Community Partners on the road.

The Sierra Vista store will be open thru January and when we dropped in this afternoon we were told the sales haven't started here just yet but will very soon.

CEO Bruce Thorn said the closures could be reversed if a company sale is completed. More than 400 stores have already shuttered this year
